Both less than 2 miles away are the villages of Wedmore and Mark.
Wedmore boasts a golf course, various gift shops, a butcher, a fishmonger and grocer, a general store and 2 cafes. It also boasts 3 pubs and an Indian restaurant and famously was the place that in 878AD King Alfred the Great signed the treaty with Guthrum the Dane after Guthrum's defeat at the Battle of Edington.
Wildlife, archaeology and history can be enjoyed in the area, we are between Avalon marches, Shapwick Heath on the Levels and the Mendip hills. Cheddar gorge is 15 minutes away. The beautiful city of Wells, the towns of Street, and quirky Glastonbury are all a 20-minute drive away as is the coast and Burnham on Sea which has the Links golf course as well as a nine-legged wooden lighthouse.
